return to my poetry's home.
this is the result of a song writing session with samuel west, for our
band: kan. music by him, words by
me, arrangement by both of us.
as usual it quickly degenerates into absurdity, although this time i think
someone unwarned might guess it was serious. little do they know me. :-)
i cry now
i went down to the city,
but you know you'll never see her again.
the sun goes down in mourning.
the moon comes up in despair.
bridge: i know she ain't happy,
it's me she really wants.
walking these streets at night,
i always remember when she was there.
the moon goes down in mourning.
the sun comes up in despair.
*bridge*
chorus: she was my light.
she was my star.
i always cry now.
oh she's gone so far.
another smokey bar,
you know she'll never come.
the whisky goes down in mourning.
the sun comes up in despair.
*bridge*
*chorus twice*
