i appear to have turned into a music collector, while i wasn't looking. everybody gotta have a hobby i suppose ;-)

in the true spirit of the collector, i vow never to be happy with what i've got.. to always want a few more cds. here is where i try to keep track of the ones i intend to buy eventually, as i have this annoying habit of forgetting what i want... this is probably because i just don't care about having 'stuff'... 'stuff' is nice and all that, and music makes me happy, but it's just stuff, and i can't work up the energy to fixate on it.

there are two catagories of music i get... first there are those bands/artists/genres which have maybe one or a handful of songs i like. for these i get a single album, usually a 'greatest hits'... and there are those that i like pretty much everything from. for these i avoid getting any compilation albums, and instead try to get all of their albums, or stop when i'm fed up with them.

i largely avoid live albums and singles - i realise this means i miss out on a lot of good stuff, and maybe i'll change that policy in the future, but generally studio albums are higher spec, and have all the good stuff. anyway i've got a big enough remit as it is :-)
