 Teaching English Conversation & Basic English to University students (19-25). Class sizes from 10 to 80 people.  Teaching Basic Computer Skills & Introduction to Computers and HTML to University students (in Japanese).  Teaching Oral Communication at the affiliated High School (16-18), Junior High School (13-15) & Rehabilitation Nursing College (19-30).  Acting in an advisory and teaching role for the University English Speaking Society. Occasionally doing the same with the High School Karate and English Conversation clubs.  Continuing Japanese Study. Government Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 2 passed in Dec. 2003. Level 1 passed in Dec. 2004.

Languages Japanese: Passed JLPT Level 1 after 2 years of study. Have continued studying for two more years to the present. Can read newspapers and serious books fluently; can hold complex and precise conversations without difficulty.
  French: Studied to GCSE level. Currently studying, using language learning skills developed when learning Japanese. Intermediate conversation and listening skills. Intermediate/advanced reading skills.
Writing Various technical and social articles published on abelard.org. Proficient at simplifying complicated concepts for a general audience. Started, ran and wrote a newspaper at High School.
Driving licence Full clean licence - both UK (valid EU-wide) and Japanese.

INTERESTS

Martial arts Experience in various styles (Japanese, Chinese and Korean), including one year of Aikido and four years of GoJu-Ryu Karate (to Brown belt). Training when a Dojo is available and time permits.
Running Competed for the Oxfordshire County cross-country team, as well as for various schools, clubs, Oxford University and in individual 10K road races.
Chess Grading: ~130BCF. Also plays Japanese chess (Shougi), and competed in the 2000 European Open Shougi Tournament, part of the Mind Sports Olympiads.
Miscellaneous Cinema, music, karaoke, dance, photography, reading, rollerblading, walking, and graphic design.
