amusing kanji/japanese
short pieces looking at funny or interesting literal meanings of the kanji used for various japanese words. also some bad puns in japanese, or bilingual japanese/english, that i made up. i try to keep these things interesting by putting in lots of related bits of trivia about the japanese and the kanjis. they are all taken from my diary/blog.

japanese translations of english lyrics
various translations of english lyrics i have done for use in english classes. these translations are deliberately as literal as possible. i try as far as possible to follow the structure of the english, rather than using idioms or more natural japanese that gives the 'flavour'. i think translations of this sort are far more useful to those learning english, as it gives them a much better idea how the english is formed.
